Past Continuous Tense

Assalamualaikum, setelah sekian lama.. aku menunggu (malah nyanyi :V). setelah sekian lama nggk nge-blog, akhirnya kesampaian juga nge-blog lagi Yeaayy. Biasa kmarin agak sibuk .. anak SMA kelas 3 fokusnya ke UJIAN NASIONAL ( Horror !, sampe di CAPS LOCK saking horrornya ) dan bingung milih jurusan buat kuliah :(

           

Oke, sekarang fokus ke isi blog, kali ini ngebahas tentang salah satu Tenses dalam bahasa inggris,yaitu Past Continuous Tense, langsung saja diliat dan disimak guyss.

Fungi Past Continuous Tense :

1. Menceritakan peristiwa atau kejadian yang sedang berlangsung diwaktu tertentu di waktu lampau.

Keterangan Waktu :

- at six this morning        : jam enam tadi pagi

- at eight last night         : jam delapan tadi malam

- at this time yesterday   : pada saat ini kemarin

- at seven this afternoon : jam tujuh tadi siang

- all day yesterday          : sepanjang hari kemarin

- while       : sementara, disaat

- as               : ketika

- when                   : ketika

Rumus :

Verbal Sentence :

S + was/were + V1 + ing (+)

S + was/were + not + V1 + ing (-)

Was/were + S + V1 + ing (?)

Yes, S + was/were

No, S + was/were + not 

Ket : Was for I,He,She,It. Were for You,They,We

Example :

1. I was going to school at six this morning

2. I was not going to school at six this morning 

3. Were You going to school at six this morning ?

4. Yes,I was

5. No, I was not

2. Menceritakan dua peristiwa atau kejadian yang sama sama sedang berlangsung pada saat yang bersamaan diwaktu lampau

Rumus :

Verbal Sentence :

S + Was/were + V1 + ing while S + Was/were + V1 + ing (+)

S + Was/were + not + V1 + ing while S + Was/were + V1 + ing (-)

Was/were + S + V1 + ing while S + Was/were + V1 + ing (?)

Yes, S + was/were

No, S + was/were + not

Example :

1. They were reading while We were watching at eight last night 

2. They were not reading while We were watching at eight last night

3. Were They reading while You were watching at eight last night ? 

4. Yes, They was

5  No, They was not

3. Menceritakan sebuah peristiwa atau kejadian yang sedang berlangsung ketika kejadian lain tiba tiba terjadi

Rumus :

Verbal Sentence :

S + Was/were + V1 + ing when S + V2 (+)

S + Was/were + not + V1 + ing when S + V2 (-)

Was/were + S + V1 + ing when S + V2 (?)

Yes, S + was/were

No, S + was/were + not 

Example :

1. He was sleeping when She called at two this afternoon

2. He was not sleeping when She called at two this afternoon

3. Was He sleeping when She called at two this aftrenoon

4  Yes, He was

5. No, He was not
